First Baptist Church of Calgary worship services are Sunday mornings at 10am MST.
If you are unable to attend a service in person you can watch our service live from our home page. This link becomes available at 10am.
Our meeting begins with a call to worship God and a song of praise. Most people stand during this time, however, there is complete freedom to be seated if you prefer. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen both for ease of singing and so you know what is being sung.
Like most churches we take a monetary offering in our meeting. If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to give, as this is intended as a means of worship for those who call First Baptist Church home.
You won’t be asked to stand or raise your hand (or anything else embarrassing) just because you’re new.
First Baptist Church of Calgary believes in preaching through books of the Bible verse-by-verse as our main practice (also known as expositional preaching). We preach and read from the English Standard Version, but please feel free to bring whatever version of the Bible you prefer. We do enjoy the sound of flipping pages during our time together.
You will see that lots of people stick around and start talking after the service. Worship doesn't end after the service is done, but just continues as we connect with one another.
When you join us, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles; from as casual as jeans or shorts, to as formal as suits and dresses. However, most people find themselves somewhere in the middle – most often wearing business casual.
